Lee's Donuts opens at YVR Airport

YVR is on a journey to transform our culinary program to reflect the diverse, world-class food & beverage options available in the airport’s local community. Lee’s Donuts is the 14th local brand to open a storefront at YVR since 2022. 

Beloved local favourite Lee’s Donuts opened in Vancouver’s Granville Island Public Market in 1979. Forty-five years later, they’re still serving up classic, quality donuts made from scratch daily. 

Now, they’re bringing those donuts to the world with a newly opened location in YVR’s Domestic Terminal, located after security near Gate B14. The YVR outlet is their sixth location in the Greater Vancouver area.  

Vancouver’s favourite donuts 

Current owners Allan and Celine Bacani took over operations in 2017 and remain committed to the brand’s mission of creating comfort, community and happiness through fresh classic donuts. And, their approach is working: The shop was featured on a 2019 episode of David Chang’s Netflix series Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, resulting in a permanent lineup of donut lovers outside their Granville Island location.  

Since then, Lee’s has been recognized by local news outlets, featured in the Goop guide to Vancouver, voted top spot for donuts by the Georgia Straight’s annual Golden Plates Awards and more. 

Classic handcrafted donuts, no shortcuts 

Trends come and go, but classics are forever. Lee’s donut-making team crafts a lineup of time-honoured favourites based on the original recipes from founders Alan and Betty-Ann Lee, and keeps things interesting with a handful of rotating seasonal additions. Every donut is made from scratch with all-natural ingredients. 

Whether you opt for their best-selling Honey Dip donut, a cheerful Sprinkle Iced cake donut or the fluffy, raspberry-jam-packed Jelly Filled donut—an all-time favourite of Seth Rogen and David Chang—you’ll be able to taste the quality and care in every bite.
